Perry, 2024 Crescendo

about the game

The 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) game, titled “CRESCENDO,” revolves around a high-energy musical theme of sound and performance. Two alliances of three teams use their robots to manipulate a primary game piece called a Note, which is a foam ring designed to be shot or placed into various field elements. Robots collect these Notes from human players at the Source and aim to score them in the Speaker for direct points or the Amp to “amplify” the alliance’s scoring potential for a limited time. Throughout the match, teams must strategize to coordinate their amplification periods and utilize the Coopertition mechanism to lower ranking point thresholds. As the performance reaches its finale, robots race to the Stage to hang from chains, aiming to “harmonize” with teammates and score additional Notes into the Trap while human players attempt to “Spotlight” them by tossing Notes onto microphones.
